been avoiding it for years because, for example, the obvious public face of the movement (Therian Wiki) launches directly into essentialist gatekeeping in the first paragraph of their therianthropy intro article; I didn't want to deal with a whole extra morass of petty cops and purity tests, which I would absolutely fail because I'm ambivalent about "pure animal" body forms and don't ever withdraw from sapience.
but cohost is not twitter and it feels good to divest the twitter habits so hey y'all, what I am is form-fluid. I shift, transform my inner plan to experience phantom body shapes. (hell, I've even managed two bodies at once a few times. took a lot of focus, not sure I could do three. though, a mote-swarm maybe...) I have a few comfortable favorites, I often try out other people's fictions, and I still spend a lot of time fully human because that doesn't bother me.
if this were my gender experience, nobody in 2024 would get mad at me for calling myself trans, or at least if they did I'd laugh them out of the room instead of letting them drive me out, which is a habit I do like being in.
