Making a bite-sized tactical RPG and also music sometimes

I took a week off from working on my game to make a proof of concept of a platformer idea I had, just for fun! It felt very good to take some time to make something small and lower stakes to me than my main project. (I really should have made something like this first LOL OH WELLLL)

I'd definitely like to keep tinkering with it on the side as long as it's not taking up too much of my time. Make a few levels for it and such. Mostly I'm impressed with myself for having been able to put the base of it together in the amount of time that I did. A couple years ago this would have taken me much longer, and the code would have been a mess! That helps remind me I have made some progress getting better at this stuff.

@MOKKA

and you know what would be a cool Birthday present?

If folks would take a look at my work and give it a chance.

I've been around videogames for a shockingly long time now, however at no point did I feel like there was actually a space for me to exist. It always feels to me that I'm kind of intruding into someone else's space, when I run around and try to convince real professional people to take a look at my low-budget solo projects. Doesn't matter if it's me sending out press emails, or when I try to apply for jobs. I feel like all I'm doing is wasting people's time.

However, I cannot stop making games (believe me I tried), so that means that I'm going keep wasting people's time and feel bad about it, but not today.

Today, I would like for people to do me a favour, take 20-60 minutes of their time and just consider my work. If you're proficient at platformers (or just put all the cheats on) that's more than enough to play through GB Rober.

-Buy GB Rober on Steam!
-Or grab a community copy on itch!
-Download Skuiggle and make some weird art
-Play Fäiser!
-Find some friends and play an RPG about being stuck in an awkward situation that you cannot escape from
-Read my blog!
-Put Virtue's Heaven on your Steam wishlist!
-Support me on Patreon!
-If you're looking for a game designer, give me an interview! I never had one of those!
-If you're in the porting business, get in touch! I'd like to get at least GB Rober to consoles.

I'm not going to lie, I already had a pretty cool Birthday, but any of these things would be really cool and I think I deserve it. Tomorrow I'll go back to being less demanding about this, but today I'm going to put my foot down.

It's my Birthday for god's sake.

Hello, so I'm planning on releasing the demo for my game next week. But you're on cohost and you're cool. So you can play it now!

(If asked the password is: Jam 236S~D. Thanks to @cavalcadeofcats!)

I'd love to hear your feedback either here, in the itch comments, or there is a google form that appears after you play the game once. And, idk, if you're curious about something send me an ask. I've never got an ask that wasn't a DM lol.

I don't really care about keeping this a secret. You can share this post, talk about it, tell other people the password, etc. In fact please do all of those things... But next Friday, after my 10:30am dentist appointment, I'll remove the password and post it other places.
