Do they have Buc-ee's down in Austin? I've lived in central/north Texas for 20 years and still never actually seen a Buc-ee's in person, so the association of them with Texas feels weird to me.
They're only on highways outside of cities, the only time I was able to stop by one was when I went to Dallas for Dreamhack, it's like a 40-60 minute drive out of Austin north to get to it
I see. Outside of 20 I'm rarely on highways, so it'd make sense that I've just missed them then.
This reminded me I worked on an app for Don't Mess With Texas. All you could do is report someone's license plate or info for littering and they'd mail the person a bag to throw things away in. Felt like a weird creepy way to gather info on random people.
being not Of Texas or the US it was only recently in my life that i learned "Don't Mess With Texas" is an anti-littering slogan coined by a marketing agency in the 80s. i thought it was older and more nebulously legendary and a thing to say on shirts / license plate frames / the internet. which, i suppose it is now. maybe what i'm grappling with is that the 80s is now sufficiently long ago to be Mythic
I have several questions. do y'all use barrels for trash normally? are highways lined with barrels for trash?
No it's just Darrel that's a barrel filled with trash, we don't usually have giant trash barrels on the highway
So weird to make your anthropomorphic trash vessel not actually a trash vessel…
