really enjoyed it! i can't believe i slept on it for so long. it is a dense book (at least, to me) but when i finished it i immediately bought the other book in the series
it follows in the footsteps of books i like that have been recently published (read: within the last 10 years) that all orbit around the concept of a place being indirectly colonized -- a place that is on the edges of an empire and the citizens being persuaded, via economic means, cultural means, and military, to accept that life within the empire is much better than life without.
the two other books are Ancillary Justice and The Traitor Baru Cormorant, both of which i liked and the latter which i loved. check them out!
