Yes, this, absolutely.
I mean…just some months ago, I took the TERF bait because my brother was “enjoying The Witch Trials of JK Rowling” and kept telling me, with every breath I argued, “if you listen to all of it, you’ll see.”

So I listened to all of it. I didn’t see anything but a misrepresentation of nonbinary and masc folks and from that misrepresentation, false arguments being made. All it did was make me sad to think that a close family member of mine really believed that about me.

This story does have a good ending, though. Rather than interacting with the media my brother wanted me to, I talked openly with him about my own experience, and how, while it was different from him, we still experience the world as human. I think it was that moment that he listened.
