Tbh I really should make a Godot demo of a Flash-style dress-up game that's super generic but has the basic mechanics a person would need to divest from Picrew without losing functionality (and in fact likely gaining it) and is commented to hell and back with what each thing does and how you can alter it for your own situation

Like, to spitball:
- different categories of item
- custom preview images
- multi-select category (e.g., blush and freckles at same time)
- contextual variant picker (e.g., eyeliner shape per eye shape)
- locked vs. free placement (e.g., shirts can only be on or off but decals can go wherever)
- category-wide / multi-category color changing (e.g., skin)
- per-item color changing (e.g., slacks vs. jeans may not share a palette)
- optional accent color picker
- RGB color picker
- random starting value (like Doll Divine does for skin and hair)
- text + translation
- optional content warnings
- optional sound
