a lot of time when people make a slightly dull/darker rainbow color palette they hide a reference to homestuck in there. so you have to count the number of colors to see if it's a hidden homestuck reference or not; 11-12 colors (depending on whether they include gray or not) means it's a bonafide reference. i haven't been a fan of homestuck for a long while, but it's just something that kinda ingrained itself in me to notice when someone is sneaking a reference in
