@PolyCement

i'd been workin on this for a month or so already and actually just finished building it last weekend, but programming it has been a massive pain in the ass so i'd been planning to take it easy finishing the code up. anyway 2 days later the shutdown announcement dropped so i've been rushing to get it out the way so i can focus on setting up a blog lmao

it's a clock module (ie. the thing that puts out a pulse on each beat) originally based on dawn synths' one, but i got overly ambitious as always and it ended up way more complicated... its got root1 tempo and 2 subtempos, each with independent swing control, and a button for tap tempo (or u can hold it to freeze the bpm, which lets u make sudden bpm changes). its also got a little oled screen on it for displaying all the tempo and swing values + what bpm mode its in (normal, tapping, tapped or hold). as always, i put the schematics up on my synth module repo so u can build 1 urself if u want

somehow the screen was actually the hardest part to get right... it uses i2c for communication, which turns out to be slow as shit? so i had to switch libraries and make a bunch of other optimisations just to make sure updates don't hang execution long enough to cause noticeable stalling in the outputs. i got it working eventually tho, and even managed to set it up to print using pawfont (a font that might look familiar if u watched any of me and @mia's more recent sets ;3)

anyway, i'm probably gonna make a mixer next so i can listen to the synth and my volca sample thru the same set of headphones, but cohost will be trapped in time by then, so this is sadly gonna be the last synth diy update i'll be posting on here...... BUT! that wont stop me posting synth diy updates!! like i said up top i rushed this out so i could add a blog to my site, so future updates (and past updates?) will be posted over at coolgoth.zone once thats set up. so instead of "goodbye", i'll end this with:

"check out my blog for more! :')"

1. this is labelled on the screen as "D" for "dominant" because i thought it'd be funnier given the other 2 outputs are "subs" ;3
