I know this is how capitalism works, but on the other hand, when you become infrastructure fuck you you're saddled with that forever. don't like it? consider it an anti-monopoly tactic, if you enclose most of the infrastructure instead of improving the commons, you get to have it drain you dry the rest of your miserable life as a company as part of the trade

the private sector does not effectively build infrastructure and cannot understand infrastructure. infrastructure requires work that is not profitable. the best the private sector can do is pretend, ever so briefly, to be infrastructure, before it collapses.

yes, I have fastmail and use addresses under domains I own as of two years ago.

no, at least four of those accounts are attached to things that are a huge pain in the ass to change the emails of. I've tried. I'll try fax next.

in fairness to them, I bet all of those emails about sales you didn't sign up for are poisoning the AI they want to train on email, and trimming dead accounts would remove most of the spam they're unable to count as spam
