there will never be anything like this ever again.

the community will keep going, i think. it lived through the "grand" siesta, and through the aftermath of black hole(black hole). i've seen a lot of people on here talk about keeping the fandom going, never forgetting about blaseball, keep writing and drawing and singing and thinking. just like we've been doing for the past 2 years. in the words of iliana quorum, former headmistress of SIBR, may the game live forever.

but it won't be the same. it hasn't been the same as it was during expansion (which wasn't the same as it was during discipline), but it's going to change again now. even without games going, there was still the promise that blaseball will return. through short circuits and fall ball and development updates and all the time in between, we leaned on that promise. play will continue. even if there's no less blaseball this month than last, that idea, that promise, is gone.

there is a gaping hole through the heart of blaseball that everything leaned upon.

we'll keep talking, for a time. i know i'll be thinking about it for a long, long time. i don't want this community to slowly dwindle away from its already reduced numbers, either. but i don't have a choice in that.

a resurrection will not bring blaseball back. it will not bring the same blaseball back. isn't that something we've all learned by now?

there was never any going back.

may the game rest.
