i can tell twitter is really starting to lose advertiser support because over the last few days the only ads i've seen on there are

  • flight tracking app (which was there before, in fairness, but it's become even more common)
    • this one of course has never been particularly relevant to me
    • i'm really not sure who it's targeted at honestly
  • some kind of prescription medication
    • i assume i don't have whatever it's supposed to treat but i won't find out because they don't seem interested in telling me unless i click the ad
    • i'm not that curious
  • doordash driving
    • i do not own a motor vehicle
    • if i did own a motor vehicle (which i do not) i am not in desperate need of $10 or whatever

previously i saw a whole lot of, ya know, Normal Brands (though i had blocked about half of them). not so much now. quality has declined

@alyx

almost all of mine are now random things like "invest in uranium futures!" or random small youtube channels paying for ads and i don't know how much of this is because i block every advertiser i see or because elon drove them all away
