I will probably put some oil/wax on this and maybe a brown ink wash to bring out some of the detail on the feet and eyes, but it's done: my first completed woodcarving since ~2001.
I am feeling some sort of a way about that.

So cool! I love the pose, such a polite sit.
#I have a new hyperfocus and I'm making it everyone's problem
I cannot overemphasize how sincerely I encourage this. Woodcarving is VERY cool, an increase in posts about it would improve my life and dashfeed. And possibly enliven your carving-holding-sized horizontal surfaces around the home.
in some ways the Ideal Forme of the social internet is a place where I collect other people's hobbies, like of COURSE I want to follow machinists and glassblowers and model train enthusiasts and bakers and see what they make and why they made it, I can do a lot but I can't do everything and all that shit is so cool
...somehow in my brain this doesn't ever connect to "and people will likewise want to see me get obsessed and make things", but at least with modern tagging I can tell myself they'll just mute/muffle me if I get really annoying about it
