yes! I'm very much experimenting with what the material (again: giant tree limbs that fall on my house in storms) will let me do. roughing out the horsie shape initially with a flat saw was a big time-saver, but it also created some weird angles to try to get my various knives into. I've been learning a lot about which cuts are risky (both to the project and to my fingers).
next time I have a little money to spend on frivolity, I'm gonna get a coping saw and become unstoppable, and/or cut my thumb off. exciting either way.
