okay so on the one hand I know someone who does generative art in the sense of handwriting programs that output intricate mathematical patterns and I'm not about to "that's not art" him because he doesn't manually trace each line out with a ruler and pencil
and I generally believe in an expansive definition of art that can include found art, conceptual art, etc
on the other I am very angry at the current computer bullshit, so this is a tough one
