Genderdeer. The meat was paid for, but the bones were stolen.

first I need:

  • a pillow the exact right height and density
  • three blankets the correct thickness and texture
  • a plushie of a specific size, shape, and character
  • to scoot downstairs very carefully on my bum and use the bathroom [ed. - I live in the woods. the 150yo redwood will have to bear the insult as best it can]
  • to take all the dogs out one more time (individually, because I can't handle more than one right now)
  • to feed the cats
  • to select a podcast, twitch stream, or dubbed anime of the perfect length, subject, and vocal profile to keep me distracted but not really engaged

and that's why I've been laying here miserable for 90 minutes.

oh I pay them money, but that is exactly the kind of thing I want more of, yes. sadly I am out of episodes.

any behind the bastards episodes/series especially good? apparently my brain wants mean people and robert evans has both exceptionally good enunciation and a voice that doesn't give me a headache right now

also congrats on sobriety etc., hope it ends soon, splashing oil on the wheels of bureaucracy for you

ohhh is that what you meant? I do listen to If Books Could Kill but find it not entirely relaxing because there is a lot of recitation of right-wing rhetoric (for the purpose of debunking, but still)

the less overtly political ones like Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and Bobos In Paradise are easier listening

(also the men/mars/women/venus episode quickly devolves into them realizing the author does not understand that everything he writes about his own marriage paints him as a terrible husband until his wife trained him like a seal, so if you want mean...)
