in reply to @amagire's post:

you are so brave and cool and your doggies will be so excited when you get home to cuddle all over you and you are going to have the strongest edibles you can tolerate so you can have the best recovery period

as an aside, i don't think i have ever been in a hospital that had good wi-fi or cell signal (if it even got bars at all). it wouldn't surprise me if they have some built-in faraday cage shit in the walls because it interferes with imaging equipment or something

you're so brave ! i've spent a lot of time in hospitals but never had any surgery. that stuff is big and scary and yet here you are ! that's very inspiring. it's gonna go super well and you're gonna feel as good as possible when you wake and your recovery will be quick and nice.

You have a remarkable hypothalamus which is doing its best to keep you safe in an unfamiliar situation! With a system like that in place, recovery might be a challenge, but you'll nail it. The surgery will be fine - not fun, maybe, but you'll get through it.

as someone who's been in the er a lot, been hospitalized a few times, and has had both voluntary and medically necessary surgeries: damn you are being so brave and we're genuinely really proud of you for toughing this out. you'll get through this, promise. also, when you're out and allowed to eat again, reply to this comment with your paypal or whatever and we'll send you money for ice cream or something.

If I'm a bit late to this and you're reading this post-surgery: you were very brave for it. Kick-ass. If not: I still think you've got this; you're a very rad presence on my feed and I (all of us, really) are rooting for you.

Oh no, I hope the surgery goes/went well! You are extremely brave to be in the hospital putting up with all the awful things about being in the hospital. Also a talented artist and wickedly funny and generally a haver of good opinions. And good dogs. ❤

Fucking brave as fuck

I hope everything goes super well. You are fantastic and I am so glad I got to interact with you in online spaces. I love seeing your posts and I appreciate your perspective.

You are the bravest werewolf consultant I have ever met and comporting yourself with more dignity than the situation deserves, considering! Also honestly very smart and wise for making this chost, so we can remind you of how strong and handsome you are.

When my wife was having her jaw broken for a second time in Germany for surgery reasons, the nurse who administered her anesthesia asked where she was from and if she was feeling alright. She said she was from the Netherlands and wasn't really feeling it yet. To which the nurse replied with a wink, "Ah yes, the Dutch. We always have to double the dosage for those."

Y'know, all surgeries have success ratings, based on percentages. Botched operations have many flavors as-to why they become botched, so like all things involving radical changes to one's body: shit is actually risky. Also in the U.S. you get to play roulette with your insurance provider, which I personally dislike doing every time it happens. It is spooky stuff, so going through with it is an exercise at the minimum in self-regulation.
