Wow this is amazing, I have the power to take a bit of wood out of the woodpile and turn it into whatever I want, just by chipping at it with knives for 5-15 hours! It won't be perfect, maybe, but it will be recognizably the thing! Incredible!

I have no idea how I did that and surely I will be unable to do it again. It was a series of astonishing coincidences. The fact that I feel this way after every single creative project I have ever completed, from fanfiction to winemaking, does not register as a pattern and will not be archived.

I will probably put some oil/wax on this and maybe a brown ink wash to bring out some of the detail on the feet and eyes, but it's done: my first completed woodcarving since ~2001.

I am feeling some sort of a way about that.
