What’s the gayest song you vibe to?

because its because of one specific moment in time that i shared with someone that i will never ever forget, its probably not gay for many others. cast your minds back to the innocent year of 2019, before The Plague Years, august specifically. me and a very good friend (who doesnt use this site, unfortunately) were in the rainy, boggy south of england to see music for weirdos, specifically we were watching And So I Watch You From Afar perform the entirety of their fucking brilliant self titled (a masterpiece of instrumental music. if you dont like it, you're wrong!) for its 10 year anniversary

anyway this is a very rowdy band who play very rowdy music so you get a very rowdy crowd, and we had a brilliant but exhausting time both with the quality of music and just watching everyone go a bit mad. anyway, towards the end of the record (and thus, the gig) there's this pair of much less heavy tracks as kind of a breather before the finale. the 8th track has this wonderful bit of purely joyous non-lyrical vocal (4:29) to scream along with, and then the whole thing chills out to fade into the 9th track, The Voiceless

the opening of this is so brittle and delicate and sweet, and i have the most vivid, deep memories of blinking, realising i was crying, then looking over my shoulder to see my friend equally crying. we looked each other in the eyes, both had this realisation that the other had been hit the same way, and just both openly started sobbing while hugging each other, swaying with the music.

have you ever had a moment with someone where you realise that you are going to be friends with them forever? yeah. anyway any time i listen to this record and i get to this piece i can feel the metal barrier below my feet, the tears streaming down my face, and the arms around my back again. i love it, and if my friend ever ends up on cohost and reads this; i love you!
