I have to say, some of by best photographic work has come from my recent trip to Yosemite. I’ve impressed myself with what I was able to capture, but I’ve also made mistakes along the way. A lot of mistakes. But that’s just part of being a photographer. You don’t share the hundreds of photos you’ve combed through to find the ones that work best, bringing out their true potential with a little editing help. Or even just leaving them as is, because they were that good right out of the camera. Some are carefully composed. Others were taken on a whim or captured in a burst from a moving vehicle. All my skills were put to the test.
Yosemite really is a sublime place. It lends itself well to photographic experimentation. The commanding landscapes are but one focal point. Consider the waterfalls, the weather, the fungi growing on old trees. Leaves glistening in the soft daylight.
