The steam forums have to be one of the most wretched places online that's not explicitly just a fascist site. Just an absolute toxic cesspit of entitled bigoted piles of shit. youtube comments have an awful reputation but on average I find that generally they at least match the attitude of the youtuber. It seems like only assholes ever bother posting on the steam forums. If I ever made a game and put it on steam I would instantly pin a post in the mandatory forum it automatically creates that says "I will never be reading or interacting with this section of the site in any way."
