down here in new orleans, I think we're getting close to the end of the fall tourist season, so it's nice and quiet this sunday, just like I like. it's cold and cozy and because of our poor insulation at home, I awakened to a cat shivering on top of me, signaling the time for the space heater.
this week in music listening has had a lot of björk, arca, and lafawnduh, with a little bit of early BiSH for that 2015 j-idol pop punk pep when I need it for work.
it's been a mellow week, all told, though I'm already mentally and emotionally preparing myself for a cross-country move in several months. it involves splitting up from a housemate of, goodness... seven years?, which is an emotional affair by itself. still, though, I can't help but be thrilled at the idea of moving out of a deeply red state in a deeply red region, among other perks like the boston area having Actual Mostly Working public transit, as well as the best part, much much better access to girlfriends. ya love to make a long-distance relationship decidedly not that anymore.
in other media, last night I sat down with the fam here to watch the first few episodes of Over the Garden Wall, and it was such a treat, sitting at the meeting point of the absurd, the sentimental, and simultaneously a parody of and love letter to americana. I'm looking forward to catching the rest of it hopefully this coming saturday!
