i had a lot of fun writing this over the course of several hours, inspired by Ye Olde Moog repertoire, and it's great to shake the cobwebs off my classical counterpoint muscles
the instruments were an artifact of how i was personally taught to play baroque organ -- sparing with changes, striving for textural unity, but undeniably with some articulation to bring the individual voices to the forefront. if i were to play this on the organ, i would rely on principals and winds and steer clear of the mixtures
i'm a big fan of the stretto starting at 0:49, layering the subject in the soprano together with an inversion of the subject in the tenor, along with the little chromatic gestures throughout
