sometimes the metrics are kind and make me feel good -- 105 listens across 45 unique listeners on that EP is nice

it sucks to feel any level of reliance on others' approval or attention, but also, like... music is frequently a social experience and that's certainly how i want to experience it. i also don't think it's a bad thing to want others to hear something, though it puts me at a risk of revisiting my undergrad freshman emotional crash when i realized i was "okay" and not "excellent" at piano

anyway, metrics can tear one down, and certainly the "full play" vs "partial play" vs "skip" breakdown on bandcamp is frickin terrifying, but i'm having an okay relationship with them right now, especially given that i expected like... 10 listens and $0

if you like chiptune, it's for you. if you don't happen to love video gamey video gamey music, this is also for you -- it definitely, to my ears, trends more toward the overarching "house" supergenre, though i'm a poor judge of genre

got all the tracks exported and cut, mastering ain't a thing since it's all chiptune exported from the same software, i think now it's just plopping the tracks on bandcamp tomorrow

uh-oh, she has a bandcamp now, and will be Actually Releasing That EP on the 11th! initial release is the tracks plus a google drive directory containing the PICO-8 carts. i'll figure out the PICO-8 BBS afterward
