These are "hiatus charts", showing which weeks/months a mangaka did or didn't publish. These in particular are two of the most ridiculous: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, running since 1987, and One Piece running since 1997.

the one piece chart is a harrowing demonstration of what a decade of drawing does to a mf
and Oda's done better than many of his contemporaries, some of whom are outright dead from a life of overwork! at least he took a break to get eye surgery earlier this year. Araki at least seems to have mellowed out, the shift to monthly chapters made his storytelling much stronger.
I would absolutely have been a person making these charts were I following a long-running manga in my youth, but purely for the joy of looking at data.
