reinstalled bluestacks today because a personal project i'm working on required me to look into some android app internals and i've learned that in the decade since i've last used it that not only has the developer pivoted hard into the gaming market, but more scarily, when i installed it, it also silently installed this into my system tray without telling me. it's a separate piece of software owned by a subsidiary of bluestacks inc that can stick around even after you uninstall bluestacks proper. it's amazing how fucking pathetic a piece of software can become within a decade
