i really do recommend zeroranger as an intro into the genre, especially its soundtrack!! level select, savegames and customizable ships and difficulties (to an extent) to help you into it!! the soundtracks nothing to scoff at either
just watch out for spoilers, the game does actually have some great moments (ive heard someone compare it to undertale in terms of using its genre for storytelling)
