Why isn't every game a Prey (2017)? This legitimately bugs me
Why isn't every game a Prey (2017)? This legitimately bugs me
cause I do feel like many games have been folding imsim into the prevalent AAA ubergenre
or do you mean in a "sharing a name with a completely tonally and mechanically different game, but in a way that entwines both of their destinies as a discrete unit of branding that gets talked about in the same breath almost as a rule" way
It's an extremely different game but have you played Shadows of Doubt? Roguelike detective immersive sim, I got a lot of time / enjoyment out of it, I think it works a lot of the same muscles that Prey (2017] does
Yes! I feel like I can See The Matrix a little too much in it now, but those first several hours were exhilarating
That was my exact experience too, where I knew that I was learning the systems too well, but up until I figured them out it was amazing. I guess the only other imsim-like game that I keep going back to is Hitman 3, which is more of a comically-violent puzzle game than anything else
i think Shadows of Doubt's biggest problem atm is that every avenue of investigation is siloed off from the rest, there's not a lot of interaction between them
