Stg I cannot sit through another Content film, now that I have the language to describe it

My gut told me to steer clear even back in the early Marvel days. But I'd give one the benefit of the doubt now and then because I thought, "maybe it's just me." Folks, it is not just me. Some movies are Empty inside

One weird tangent though: I thought the all-women Ghostbusters was a Content movie until I saw it again on a streaming service. It's actually just that that movie is somehow a web series, and it's incredibly confusing to see a web series on the big screen.

Modern day big budget IP-driven blockbusters remind me of the zombie years of The Simpsons. The characters were established over a decade ago and their original creators did pretty much everything you can do with them the first go around. Creators have to do something new with them but can't go too far or it'll feel like a different property with different characters. Plus, the decade and change of difference means that the gulf in cultural beliefs and standard from the time of their creation until now is only growing, but enough of the culture at the time of creation is baked into the property that it'll never fully come out no matter what the writers or directors do.

content film is a good term, it describes a lot of anime i avoid too. the phrase rattling in my head lately is "do i detect that any love went into this production"
