I think the main problem with AI is that they're allowed to call... this, AI.
i know this is obvious but i feel it i don't say it i might forget since wow is it powerful in the zeitgeist
There's only one thing people should be allowed to call AI and it's when the computer makes the lil guys run around the level in videogame
I like the word AI even less than I like the word Meme. I'm over here saying "Image Macro" and I'm also over here saying "LLM".
There is a big problem where investors are fully sold on the story of AI, so they'll give you money if you promise to do AI things with it. The business folks buy into this, and at a certain point the devs are put into the position of trying to figure out which of the things that they were going to do anyway can be labeled "AI" so that people higher up the chain don't get mad at them.
