i have a bad reaction to spiro that slowly builds over months, and i suspect it's the inactive ingredient lactose monohydrate causing the problem. i am experimenting with taking lactase about ten minutes before each dose of spironolactone. it's only been a few days so results are inconclusive. what is striking me though, is that every time i take lactase, i get a sensation of immense relief a few minutes later. just from the lactase. what's that about? i completely removed dairy from my diet months ago.

yeah there's gotta be something going on with more complex chemistry here. the story most people know about a thing, like "dairy has lactose, take lactase," is usually oversimplified. but i am not able to find any information on this beyond generic articles about lactose intolerance.
