In his recent ruling on the arrest of Asheville Blade reporters, Judge Tommy Davis declares the police can arrest journalists if the cops think they're inconvenient, that the First Amendment actually requires the arrests of media alongside protesters and that the rights of the press aren't infringed if they're hauled away in handcuffs. It gets worse from there.
No, readers, we are not making this up. If this ruling stands it's a threat to journalism everywhere, especially radical reporters, as the ruling specifically doubts if leftists and anarchists count as press.
