i'm taking the assumption that we are discussing the idea of gatekeeping OSRC specifically
the idea that anyone would feel the need to gatekeep Old School Runescape, a game that appeals to a very narrow subset of the old school, the curious, and the academic, and pretty much no one else, is genuinely ludicrous to me
i think i would have a harder time trying to convince folks to play Runescape -- any version currently released -- than I would trying to keep folks away from it
ftr, this is not an insult to Runescape, because I am absolutely in some of the camps of folks who are interested in it, but hoo boy, i really feel like that experience preserves itself without aid
