the third issue that seemingly has absolutely nothing to do with anything else!
this is kinda an odd duck; I introduced two characters that wound up never getting used elsewhere, which is especially funny because they were actually designed before Trace and Din! initially, I'd planned H&H to be the first issue, but couldn't nail a story down yet. (if you're willing to dig, you can actually find some advertisements where I showed off Thera, months before I would actually get the idea down!) eventually i'd take the idea of having a one-off within the universe for a future issue, Headspace, and wanted to maintain the occasional spin-off for the heck of it.
i wound up doing most of this during thanksgiving week, which is a little wild to think about: knuckled down with a tablet playing some Brooklyn 99 while I worked for five to ten hours a day during a holiday. (no one forced me, it was just the best way to occupy my time.)
i still wanna come back to these two, since they're a lot of fun. i wanted a character that had a strong Steve Irwin vibe who'd sooner wrestle a rhino than run from it (Thera) and a reformed sniper who moved to assisting with animal tracking and anti-poacher vigilantism.
one day i hope i can come back to these two and show how they tie in with the rest of the story a little more closely!
