Yuzo Koshiro was posting about these last year, he says they sound exactly like the speakers in late-80s arcade cabinets. I've been working with some late-80s FM synth hardware using the same Yamaha chips that were in those machines, so I thought it would be fun to test those mixes on these. But no Daiso anywhere near me carried them, and they've been out of stock on their website all along (I refreshed it every morning lol). Finally they popped up from an independent Japanese eBay seller for $25 and I was like, yeah, sure, fine. They got here in like two days, somehow.
Anyway I'm gonna keep working on my soundtrack for an imaginary mega drive STG/shmup/what-have-you and I'm gonna bump it on these dorky little things with a big stupid smile painted across my face.
