tired of this shit. I joined this community for stud-finder memes and instead of that, every day there's new discourse about whether you should write it as 'dry wall' or 'drywall', or mold-shaming, or outing rat gnawers. Yeah I chew on the drywall. Yeah, I say "I'm a little rat. I'm a little rat gnawing on my drywall". What of it? Can we get back to what matters?
it's obvious that some of y'all are just here to collect and don't actually use any of your material. I see a lot of pictures of stacks of gold bond sheets and quietrock pallets next to the tyvek wraps in your garages right after the month-long Lowe's sale like those don't happen every six months like clockwork, but when was the last time you actually hung that shit?? how long are you gonna live in a bunch of bare 2x4 pine frames and exposed conduit while all your fancy noise-dampening fire-resistant plasterboard sits under a tarp in the shed? at this point we're no better than /r/drywall. I left that sub because I was tired of the constant pissing contests and elitist gatekeeping. Like, okay, I'm SO SORRY /u/XxXSamusBoyfriendXxX that I bought the "overrated" galvanized nails, and that they're "mid tbh". I wanted to believe people here would be more real, and passionate about the art of hanging sheetrock, and the delicious plastery meats contained within. I wanted to believe drywall twitter would be a community of grown ups. I'm done. You can follow me on instagram if you want, at least the energy drink community over there has their shit together.
