Holy hell everything in Rez makes so much more sense now.
Rez is my favorite, uh, work. Period. Of any medium. It's the only thing I've been able to say that about for what is now an overwhelming majority of my life.
Rez has had a more profound and holistic impact on me creatively over the years than anything else.
Watching TRON felt like unlocking a rosetta stone to translate my own brain.
Here's my brief, gleefully stupid thoughts about that immaculate mess of impossible beauty.
my first viewing of TRON was on laserdisc and that felt extremely appropriate. I need to go back and watch TRON: Legacy again, my memory was that it was also extremely silly and digital jeff bridges is uncanny but it's the kind of movie that put daft punk in as themselves simply DJing a party in a computer mainframe and that's fun as hell
It is one of the most laserdisc-ass movies ever made, so that checks out
