I’m going to start a solo playthrough of Stonehell using the Errant system.

I made four characters.
Gerod The Zealot Elf
Elaine the Violent Goblin
Fortessa the Deviant Tiefling + her dad
Veg the Occult Orc + his two buff cousins

I’m going to play through the Stonehell mega dungeon as I read it, and then I’m going to write up a journal entry made by one of the characters, as Veg is going to document and publish their explorations.

Stonehell. It was a prison, now an ancient ruin built into the ground. I am leaving my academy for the first time. I have found myself some companions. Garod, a religious elf who drinks without end and has a... smell to him. Elaine is a savvy goblin warrior. Fortessa, a tiefling that is smarter with her hands than with her mouth.

The jade horse in my pocket jumped to my mind, and I examined it for a while. I think I have been able to discern its abilities.

After a month, we only have a combined total of 1,156 cp to fund our next expedition.

To fulfill the pact he made with Pater Liber, his god, in order to rescue us from the brigands, he spent his time and copper partaking in mindless delight. He returned to us a mess of a man.

Elaine has had her arm fixed up by a healer, and has become quite enamored with Heady Blow, a local intellectual that lent her some coin.

I myself have become indebted to Vilomenta Dagon, a haughty merchant with a heart of gold (derogatory). I had to borrow some coppers to fund my research. Unfortunately, I made no headway in cracking the secrets of my Ouroboros bracelet, even stopping to tattooing myself in an attempt to gain understanding.

Fortessa was secretive about what she spent her month on, but she has returned with the copper to fund our company's next expedition, so I cannot complain.

May 3rd, 290 AE, Stonehell, Ruined Church

We bought out Stonehome of their entire stock of adventuring supplies. Barg and Darf have a handcart now that we acquired from an old farmer. Heady Blow asked us to check out the statue of St. Ras and investigate the rumored hauntings surrounding it.

Travel to the dungeon went without a hitch. We spotted some tracks, which I identified as mountain lion. Passing the gatehouse, we got a grand view of the valley, limestone walls, ruins scattered about, a forest and a waterfall in the distance. We investigated the ruined buildings. Two held nothing, the third held the mountain lion that I presume made those tracks. He had quite a friendly demeanor and seemed to enjoy the jerky Fortessa fed him. The last ruin was the remains of a church.

A statue of St. Ras, covered in lichen, still stands in the center of these cracked pavestones. He wears armor and kneels in prayer. Garod senses a... presence emanating from the statue.

crude pencil sketch, a kneeling, ruined statue in armor.

We also noted the remains of a recent camp, possible more brigands. We will tread carefully.
