"An "as is" remake of the 1981 Atari VCS 2600 classic "Wizard of Wor". Made live on Twitch using MonoGame framework. Because I'm not a sound design, all sounds were made with my mouth. :p"
From arcade_museum.com:
"One or two players move around a variety of line-drawn mazes shooting the creatures that wander within. Eliminating all of the monsters will advance the players to the next level. Creatures called Worluks and the Wizard Of Wor himself will occasionally appear and these can be shot for bonus points. Wizard Of Wor was produced by Bally Midway in 1981."
This free version of Wizard of Wor duplicates the gameplay and visuals of the Atari 2600 home port (one of the best versions). You're dropped into a top-down maze à la Pac-Man, armed with what appears to be a gun and set against a pack of blue creatures with similar armaments.
Your goal is to slay the blue creatures (Burwors), causing them to be replaced by yellow creatures (Garwors); slaying the yellow creatures brings out the red creatures (Thorwors. Take too long, and the next wave will come out before you're ready and the whole game will speed up.
As noted, gameplay and visuals are similar to the Atari 2600 version, but the sounds are ... not. Try it and you'll see what I mean.
Windows only.
