tl;dr: Kagi blew a bunch of money buying into AI snake oil bullshit and are now passing the cost on to users by switching to a metered usage model with per search overage fees.
Absolutely gobsmacking decision.
I have spoken here in defense of paying for software and the need for more options, but this is just irresponsible.
