Database CD-ROMs aren't always "exciting" but they can be interesting. This is Mainichi Shinbun's electronic database of every article they published on Aum Shinrikyo from 1989-1995 - published on CD-ROM shortly after the Tokyo sarin gas attack. This is before newspapers had web archives of their old articles, and most people would have had very little access to old news. Bringing together years worth of articles when suddenly the entire country is struggling for context would have been incredibly valuable.
