there's a fundamental problem with all these little esp32 modem emulators
they're not actually wireless
i've owned two of these now, and looked at at least half a dozen others, and nearly all of them require an external power brick of some kind
and just
that bums me out
i get something like a book386, and i think "oh this'll be cool, i can do retro stuff in bed" and then i remember that no i can't because i'm perpetually tethered to the wall by the too short leash of an ancient micro-USB cable
someone desperately needs to hook one of these up with a battery bay or something at least
