it feels incredibly sacrilegious to use kagi as a search engine for finding information about mac OS 9 apps

(context)

kagi was a long-running shareware platform used for decades by mac developers; it shut down in 2016 for rather unfortunate reasons. i remember a half dozen shareware applications that i would find that asked you to buy the program on kagi.

these days, a search engine company bought the name from the old owners.

Moderately off topic, but how is Kagi (the search one) overall? It seems interesting but I'm not sure if it's worth paying for, have you found results to be better/more relevant than ones from Google or DDG?

i've been really quite happy with it. the fact that i can banish w3schools from ever showing up in my search results is reason enough for me to pay them; definitely more relevant than DDG, and doesn't show me obviously wrong answers that google thinks answer my questions
