I HAVE GOT TO FINISH PALISADE

Its just. Theres something going on in the outer layers of plot and themes for Palisade that I feel like Austin is laying track for. And then Ali doesn't go down that path and this is Fine, in fact I'd say its even great GMing to have established possibilities like this just in case a player hits on them, and its also just as fine that they don't get taken. Thats actual play, babey.

BUT When Austin talks about the branched, and the conversations about what Divinity Even Is, how a divine is a social construct, I cant help but look at Brnine.

What the fuck do they look like, to a "normal" person. You work at the fucking grocery store on palisade and you hear about this guy who throws two gods together and creates magic. Magic that is the most major technological leap in thousands of years, in direct defiance to The Devil Who Hates Advancement. Then they show up at your hometown to free all peoples from oppressors and after doing the damn revolution for awhile they go and near single handedly disarm all nuculear weapons everywhere, then go on the news, then kill a world leader. In like a day, maybe. Then theyre back like nothing happened, except for not long after they (easy to make incorrect guesses at who did this, given their track record) move the entire planet into a neighboring solar system and win the revolution. Then, from your perspective, they're key to travel through the mirage being mastered? Another thing that hasnt been possible after thousands of years of effort.

How does that guy not look like the gods that you already know? How doesnt that look like magic? Where Brnine goes, the world changes. What is seperating them from a divine? How do you stop people from praying to them? Stop them wishing for another miracle?

I wonder how much of Clem's day to day is just municipal administration. Girl does run(own?) a whole city, is she out there taking meetings with the water reclaimation committee? Yes she's an evil witch with unknowable power but does she do ribbon cuttings when they open up a new bank?

Do her people even like her? Is she just like their evil forever-mayor? Or is she admired? Do they name stuff after her?

Is Clementine Kesh making a visit to the Clementine Creche to read to the children? Is she out here kissing babies?
