also wow "shoot em up" and "bullet hell" have become completely meaningless tags on steam now because EVERY SINGLE action roguelike tags itself with both

i thought steam tags are user generated not dev generated? did that change?
Devs can choose "recommended tags" which in nearly all cases become the de facto tags for the game. That's how unreleased games start out pre tagged

A few weeks ago I looked at the roguelike tag and it seemed to be under the impression that Soulslike was a kind of roguelike. They seem to have changed that since then though.
thinking of the guy at roguelike celebration 2023 who got immediately dog piled to the point of chatban for saying "reporting really bad steam tags can help with The Problem"
