Basically everywhere else, Discord, Tumblr, Bluesky, Twitter, Steam, Fediverse, etc. I still go by "anomalouslymandatory" if possible

...is some variant of "Tim Rogers!!!!!!", and while I get that his video is the only reference point most people have for that game/series, good lord do I not want him officially involved in any way—it's irritating enough that people talk about MOON as if he singlehandedly breathed life into a game that he didn't even singlehandedly translate; having to listen to people speak the same way about Tokimemo, and having him branded on the series forevermore, would be something else

Are people implying he popularized it in Japan…? Because the rerelease is still Japan exclusive right?

I guess it’s just a meme to say the name of the one guy you heard about it from huh

I've seen people kinda implying that but with Boku no Natsuyami so i guess people may think that with tokimemo as well... it's been so weird to see the bizarre cult of personality people have developed around him over the last 4 years or so

It really does seem to come down to him being so surface level quirky in an approachable way, and he does have some good know how, but he does get tiring once you get used to his writing style.

I think when I finally lost interest is the baffling way he released a video (or two or three?????) over freaking Cyberpunk 2077 of all things.

If this is what finally eventually gets us a Tokimemo in the west then great, whatever, but I’ve never followed the guy or watched his videos so it’s been bizarre to see this comment pop up multiple times today.

I know he wrote it years ago, but my image of him will forever be tainted by that article he wrote about how much he hated living in Japan, going on weird-ass tangents about modern anime only catering to perverts UNLIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS OF DRAGON BALL and how much he found the idea of maid cafes utterly revolting. I enjoyed his videos at first but now I just find his personality incredibly grating and condescending.
