I really don't understand this notion that Israel is a like vassle of the US, the US has a lot of sway over Israel as it's strongest ally but it is a separate country and our president isn't deciding their policy. They've won past wars while under international arms embargos, and the people in power rn are warhungry zealots, so there's no reason to think that they'd be convinced to stop if placed under an embargo nor is there reason to think that it'd naturally result in them loosing.

He certainly can end the war at any time, but not by gradually withdrawing military aid. No more 'I'll withhold one shipment of bombs but keep sending other bombs'. He needs to express willingness for complete withdrawal of military aid (as is his obligation under both international and US law) and then be willing to follow up on that threat if Israel doesn't immediately withdraw from the Gaza strip. This is a necessity from a practical, legal, and moral perspective.

Biden appointed Mira Resnick, a psychotic warhawk, to the State Department recently.

To me, this establishes the American Ceasefire Strategy as giving Netanyahu all the weapons he wants, accelerate the extermination of Gaza, to satisfy Likud's far-right goals sooner, and thus "end the war"
Still waiting on how how Harris feels about this after security was directed to push the Uncommitted Delegates out of the Dem National Convention's audience.
