i will never not think that it is hilariously cruel that apple insists that my 8 gigs of ram is actually comparable to 16 on a pc. fuck you apple
I wholeheartedly support the sentiment.
Worse, Apple isn't even close to being original with this kind of marketing, see attached picture. In the 30s, the DKW car company created the "4=8" branding for their top of the line models, with the reasoning that their 4 cylinder 2-stroke engines were equal to competitor's 8 cylinder 4-stroke engines. Kind of theoretically true but a sketchy claim at best in reality. Though certainly less problematic than the car's terrible durability and tendency to sometimes break in half because it was made of wood. Like, the whole thing, frame and all, was made of wood. Well they did cover it with pleather.
Auto Union did it again after WW2 with the DKW 3=6, which for all intents and purposes was a decent little car. Much less wobbly and they hardly ever broke in half.
Auto Union was eventually bought out by Daimler Benz, and in turn sold off to Volkswagen a few years later where it became today's Audi brand. VW of course would never again have any problems with deceptive marketing.
Anyway sorry for making the most tenuous of connections from the OP to nerd off about old cars, yoou know how it is.
The poster slaps, at least.
Although, apparently the dude who made it later became a card-carrying Nazi who produced a lot of shitty Nazi propaganda, so uh... yeah.
