one of my least favorite things about twitch streams is that the audience always demands the game be basically muted. streamers tend to ask for help getting the volume levels right because audio is a nightmare and what they're hearing isn't what the audience is hearing, and without fail, if the music is more than faintly detectable, a la croix hint of music, chat will demand that it be quieter. why this :C

part of it is different tastes i'd guess. music heavily impacts enjoyment even more than visuals in many cases and for many people, myself included, a lot of music simply isn't to their tastes which includes a lot of game music so if it's not turned low or kept to a small variety of overlay music chosen by the streamer, or you dont specialize in a particular game with a set OST, then it's less predictable whether they'll enjoy tuning in
