I have this horrible idea where I cut this game off early and unceremoniously, throw up a screen that says "you've finished the shareware version! order the registered version today and get [implausible list of features]", then simply provide no details for ordering whatsoever, and never create a registered version. The true 'kid with a stack of demo discs' experience.

in reply to @trashbang's post:

This reminded me of Baron of Blood, a shareware demo that came out in 1999.

It only had a single short stage with a few enemies.
And the readme promised 40 levels, more enemies and weapons, 6 bosses, puzzles, trading, etc.

22 years later, the developer was contacted by a streamer that player the demo, asking to purchase the full game.
But it was actually never completed.

Until 2023, that is.
With the renewed interested in the demo, the developer was inspired to finish the game and released it on Steam.
