how tf are you supposed to find where an image originally came from anymore. my info literacy is outdated, you used to be able to reverse image search something on google and get informative results instead of 900,000 tiktok links lmao

yeah google reverse image search sucks. i rely on yandex reverse image search and this extension a lot: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-search-options/
i kind of just disregarded the firefox extension assuming it wouldn't be much better. i'll have to give it/yandex a try though, thank you!
usually out of tineye, yandex, bing, and google (in roughly that order of usefulness) one of them will have the original, but it can sometimes take a bit of scrolling to find it, searching again with a higher quality image, etc. (yes, weirdly sometimes only Bing will be able to find it). I use this extension to check all four at once which seems to be basically equivalent to the one already suggested.
100% forgot tineye existed! also appreciate the second option for firefox extension, ty
I use the same extension as Glitchy, and as an additional note on that, if you’re ever looking for an illustration, SauceNAO is usually the best option to click from that menu. It’ll find the source even if it’s been paywalled or deleted a lot of the time
I usually use tin eye
It doesn't work for everything, but it can sort by date (and more)
upd: oh sorry, didn't see you've seen it from another comment already
it was mentioned, but i still appreciate your willingness to help, ty c:
